LA County holds the largest Thai population outside Thailand (~50,000 county-wide) and Long Beach holds the largest Cambodian population outside Cambodia, but neither group is a residential majority even in their namesake neighborhoods — Thai Town and Cambodia Town function more as commercial/cultural centers than population centers. Little Saigon is the exception: Vietnamese Americans are an actual residential majority of the Asian population there. If you’re trying to reach these specific groups, that distinction matters for where you’d actually find people versus where you’d find their businesses and institutions.
